Safe Environment

Effective July 1, 2024, the Diocese of Boise has converted to a new online platform for management of safe environment certifications for all employees and volunteers associated with the Diocese and its parishes and schools. Please see the instructions HERE for initiating access to this new portal. It is our understanding that all database information has been transferred from the previous CMG platform, but a new login must be initiated by each individual regardless of history.

Please contact the School at info@stignatiusmeridian.org if you experience any difficulty in accessing the site. Sign-up for in-person Safe Environment Workshops scheduled in the Treasury Valley are available on the website once registered.

Upcoming Safe Environment Workshop sessions:

8/29/24 @5:30pm – St. Ignatius

10/9/24 @ 10:00am – St. Ignatius

1/8/25 @ 6:30pm – St. Ignatius

The Diocese of Boise is determined to provide a safe environment for the children and young people involved in its ministries, implementing policies and procedures to assist in preventing sexual abuse, and to assist Diocesan personnel in recognizing, reporting and attending to the needs of abused children and their families.” – From the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise Sexual Misconduct Policies.

The Diocese of Boise requires that anyone working with youth under the age of 18 take a Safe Environment Workshop. This workshop deals with all forms of abuse, most specifically child sexual abuse. Holy Apostles Catholic Church/St. Ignatius Catholic School requires all school volunteers, musicians, usher/greeters, parish visitors, St. Vincent dePaul home visitors, vacation bible school volunteers and those volunteering in the religious education programs to take this class.

We hope/anticipate that at some point all St. Ignatius parents will be interacting with students in some capacity– either as a classroom helper, a field trip driver, a coach or in some other volunteer capacity– so we recommend that all parents complete/update their training prior to the beginning of the school year.

For those parents who have never completed the training, you will need to attend one of our training sessions. If there are parents, grandparents, step-parents, etc. that intend to volunteer at our school, they will need to complete this class as well. To get information about upcoming training sessions, create a Virtus account and register for a training session, click HERE. You will need to register with VIRTUS ONLINE in order for the Diocese to track attendance and registration information. There is a $30 registration fee payable to the school office in order to pay for the background check.
