Safe Enviornment

The Diocese of Boise is determined to provide a safe environment for the children and young people involved in its ministries, implementing policies and procedures to assist in preventing sexual abuse, and to assist Diocesan personnel in recognizing, reporting and attending to the needs of abused children and their families.” – From the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise Sexual Misconduct Policies.

The Diocese of Boise requires that anyone working with youth under the age of 18 take a Safe Environment Workshop. This workshop deals with all forms of abuse, most specifically child sexual abuse. Holy Apostles Catholic Church/St. Ignatius Catholic School requires all school volunteers, musicians, usher/greeters, parish visitors, St. Vincent dePaul home visitors, vacation bible school volunteers and those volunteering in the religious education programs to take this class.

We hope/anticipate that at some point all St. Ignatius parents will be interacting with students in some capacity– either as a classroom helper, a field trip driver, a coach or in some other volunteer capacity– so we recommend that all parents complete/update their training prior to the beginning of the school year.

For those parents who have never completed the training, you will need to attend one of our training sessions. If there are parents, grandparents, step-parents, etc. that intend to volunteer at our school, they will need to complete this class as well. To get information about upcoming training sessions, create a CMG account and register for a training session click HERE. You will need to create a CMG account in order for the Diocese to track attendance and registration information. There is a $30 registration fee payable to the school office in order to pay for the background check.

If you have already completed this training, you must renew your training online each year. Online renewal sessions can be found HERE. The online course takes about 1-hour to complete.
